Katy Perry suffered an eye ‘glitch’ mid-concert – and now fans fear the pop superstar may actually be a robot.
During a recent performance of his “Play” residency in Las Vegas, Perry seemed unable to keep his right eye open.
She even pressed her finger to her temple in an apparent effort to keep her eyelid from falling.
Eventually, the performer managed to lift the eyelid – and continued to keep both eyes wide open for several moments.
She then blinked before urging onlookers to make some noise for her band.
The bizarre display – which has gone viral on social media – prompted reactions from KatyCats that ranged from concern to amusement.
“His clone was glitchy. This is scary 😳,” one person wrote in a comment on TikTok, while another added, “His robot seems very buggy.”
“That female dog is a robot omg we knew,” another joked. “Katy Parry [sic] is a robot mf hahaha,” another commented.
Meanwhile, someone else said: ‘It wasn’t the eye thing that was weird, it was the fact that she acted like it didn’t happen and continued the spectacle …”
Many others found the moment rather funny.
“That doll you had as a kid with the eye that kept closing,” one person joked on TikTok, while another mused, “she lost wifi connection 😂.”
Another fan compared Perry’s wobbly eye to that of a “Disney animatronic after about 10 years.”
The comments about the “Roar” singer’s “glitch” come as she celebrates her 38th birthday.
Perry rang in a new year on Tuesday, which her partner, Orlando Bloom, honored in a sweet Instagram tribute.
“Every time we take a trip around the sun and celebrate you it reminds me that on this trip together and no matter the weather I always smile 🎂❤️🎉,” the 45-year-old actor captioned a couple selfie. .
Perry and Bloom got engaged in 2019 after three years of dating. They share 2-year-old daughter Daisy.
