Here is the Final Jeopardy of the day (in the category TV Finals) for Monday, December 26, 2022 (Season 39, Game 76):
In a reunion over 40 years in the making, Dolly Parton appeared as an angel named Agnes in the latest episode of this comedy in 2022
(correct answer under candidates)
The danger of today! competitors:
Bobby Freitasa college professor from Long Beach, California |
Sarah Schmeeran executive assistant from Portland, Oregon![]() |
Ray Lalondea performing artist from Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Total over 7 days: $192,700)![]() |
Andy’s pre-game thoughts:
Since Danger! began publishing box scores on January 12, 2022, the average Danger! the contestant makes 34.2 attempts per game on the signaling device. The average champion earns 38.3, while the average challenger earns 32.2. Cris Pannullo, in his 21-game winning streak, averaged 45.7. Five-time champion Luigi de Guzman from the start of the season had an average of 50.2 (which will certainly help Luigi’s chances at the Tournament of Champions next fall). Ray Lalonde, in his seven games so far, is averaging 46.4. If Ray is able to continue this week, we might see our second double-digit winner of Season 39. However, Ray has only found 10 daily doubles in 7 games so far. (For comparison, Cris Pannullo had found 17 in his first seven games.) Having Ray’s opponents find those daily doubles may give Ray’s opponents more of a chance to beat him. Could this gap work in favor of Sarah Schmeer or Bobby Freitas today?

Netflix’s acclaimed comedy series Grace and Frankiewhich saw its finale set in 2022 at the end of its seventh season, starred Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, who both starred with Dolly Parton in the classic 1980 film 9 to 5. Parton’s cameo in the finale therefore served as a reunion of sorts for the star cast of this film. (I’ll avoid talking about plot points in this article because we’re still less than a year away from the finale).
I suspect some older viewers are going to complain – as they always seem to do when it comes to entertainment today – that the entertainment space became much more fractured in the late 2010s, so it is more difficult to follow. And it’s true, up to a point, even Danger! he himself believes that this fracture made the show more difficult as it led to an expansion of the “canon” of things to put down eventually. But, Tomlin and Fonda were nominated for five Emmy Awards between them for their respective roles on Grace and Frankie, and I’d say it’s an incredibly easy argument to make that a TV series receiving Emmy nominations in all major categories would be 100% suitable for clues, even Final Jeopardy! clues – in any era of the series.
