TikToker Maya Felicja (@mayafelicja) went viral on the popular social media platform after her Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte paid for the milk alternative.
Felicja says the sting of paying $7.83 for a drink hit particularly hard after traveling abroad and seeing how far that amount of money would take her. His remarks sparked a viral discussion in the comments section. Despite the price, some said the drinks are hard to beat, while others said they never “buy into the hype of the popular coffee chain.”
His video has collected more than 1.1 million views on Friday.

“Look, I just paid $7.83 for a Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte with soy milk at Starbucks,” Felicja says in disbelief. “This will be the last time I buy Starbucks. I literally can’t justify this anymore.”
After spending two weeks in Poland, the TikToker says he can’t help but compare the cost difference.
“This is getting ridiculous,” he adds. “Just take a screenshot of this,” he poses with what appears to be the last Starbucks drink, “because this is it. That’s it.”
The video then cuts to a TikToker in a department store picking up a DeLonghi espresso machine. He then processes the incident and walks out of the store with the machine. “Thank you very much,” he says to the cashier.
“No more Starbucks coffee,” he says at the end of the clip before exclaiming.
Despite the currency currently being strong relative to other currencies worldwide, the United States has experienced the worst inflation this year than it has in 40 years. As a result, many different fast food chains and companies have experienced huge spikes in the prices of their goods and services across the board, often leading to angry customers.
Several viewers of Felicja’s post were shocked that Starbucks is so successful, not only dropping the coffee chain’s prices, but also skewering its products.
“I just don’t understand why people buy starbucks? It’s not even good coffee,” one user said.
“Starbucks is so overrated,” added another.
“I really don’t understand the hype about Starbucks. a small coffee shop makes better coffee and much cheaper,” claimed a third.
Others predicted that Felicja would soon go back to buying pre-made drinks from the popular food chain.
“I give you less than a week and the coffee maker is still in the box,” one user said.
“You know damn well he got starbucks the next morning,” another joked.
It turns out their predictions were correct, as Maya posted a follow-up video of herself in a Starbucks drive-thru just three days later. He says that even when he tries to make his own coffee, it doesn’t come out “as good.”
