Young and restless plot twisters: Adam is ready to take over, Tucker is in trouble (or is he?) – and Victoria locks lips with [Spoiler]

The special episode of Young & Restless surrounding Tracey Bregman’s 40th anniversary of playing Lauren Fenmore was a highlight this week, as was the surprise news that Fen has a boyfriend, although some guessed it due to the preview with Trey arriving at his side. In other news, Corporate backstabs heat up on soap ahead of February sweeps.

Bumpier road ahead

Wow, I hate that Jill canceled her meeting with Sally after getting a call from Victor – but at the same time we asked for less talk and more action. At least Victor did more than just talk about the redhead for a change. I wish I had been aware of what was said on the call. And I hope Nick finds out and walks away. It was noted that the writers had asked Sally to keep quiet about this – why would not she told Nick what happened with Jill? As for the pregnancy, they really up the cozy factor between Nick and Sally before the inevitable discussion about Adam. As if that wasn’t complicated enough, it’s going to be another bumpy ride with Victor determined to meddle in all things Sally.

Exposed

Do they want to that we didn’t like Kyle?!? Complaining about his parents getting back together, complaining about Adam and now hiding things from his wife, who put up with a plot already. Yes, Kyle is conspiring with Victor to oust Adam from Jabot despite Summer’s opposition to the idea and her warnings. He should have listened because – spoiler alert! – it’ll bite him in the butt. It won’t be the least bit surprising when Adam, who has seen Kyle and Victor hanging out and knows exactly what’s going on, grooms Kyle and exposes him to Jack. Ol Smilin’ will be enraged when he finds out that his son colluded with his nemesis to drive Adam out of Jabot. I can not wait !

Loving Lauren

I loved the anniversary episode centered on Lauren. Of course, as with all those specials full of flashbacks, it illustrates how dramatic and soapy the show was compared to today. Anyway, what a life Lauren has led. But it begs the question, “Why didn’t anyone tell Lauren that Sheila is alive?!?” Shouldn’t someone in Los Angeles have picked up the phone by now? At least she’s not letting her guard down completely. I was surprised – and yet not at all surprised – that Fen showed up with a boyfriend, but why did this have to happen off-screen?!? It could have been a complete, much-needed storyline for the Fisher-Baldwin family. That could still be the case if they moved to Genoa City and Trey’s obsession with his love’s mother grew ominous.

Team Devon

I’m following Team Devon through this brewing battle with Lily – give the man his company back and forget about the IPO! Of course, none of this ever made sense. Why would Jill push to take Katherine’s company public and put it in the hands of people who don’t care about her legacy? I guess I’m waiting to see if we’ll actually to obtain a battle or if it will die down and they will all kiss and make up.

tucker twists

The banter between Tucker and Victoria sparked – and we imagined a new power couple in the making – but so far the writers are going another route. It was either planning a love marriage or a business takeover scenario, and as it turns out, for now, it’s the latter. Rather than Tucker chasing Newman, the twist is that it’s Victor and Victoria eyeing McCall Unlimited who would be in trouble. Is it really? Or does Tucker just want them to believe that? Whether he’s cornered and struggling or plotting, Tucker is dangerous, and I’m a fan of the developing story. In a related comment, GRASS teased that Victoria was going to kiss Nate. While I would have guessed a Nate/Elena/Audra triangle, that works too, as Audra remains entangled with Tucker. Messy!

Deal with mom

I got a kick out of Phyllis ‘gung-ho’ making moves to try to find new support for the gaming rig knowing it would backfire one way or another and that Daniel would be fed up with her. Too funny. It’s kind of intriguing trying to guess what’s going to happen with Omega Sphere – I kinda hope Daniel ends up working with Tucker so we get more Phyllis and Tucker scenes. Right now, I’m more excited about the upcoming return of Heather and Lucy. The idea of ​​Phyllis with a rebellious teenage granddaughter is super entertaining. Here is your first glimpse of Daniel’s reunion with his loved ones!
