by Holly falls into Eric’s arms at Basic Black. He twirls her around and proclaims that she looks terrific. He looks at Nicole and says, “You too.” Eric takes pictures of the little girl, who invites him to the Square for Halloween. Eric says he has to work, then Nicole gets a text. She also has to work. Holly wonders who will take her Trick or Treating.
Chloe stops by the DiMera mansion to return her and Stefan’s tropical outfits. He sees his divorce papers and pauses, but then focuses on Chloe. He had hoped she would stop to see him. Chloe doesn’t want him to think she wants more from him than to accompany him to fake beaches. He knows she won’t get over Brady quickly and invites her to stay for breakfast. While they are eating, Chloe gets a call from Nicole asking her to take Holly to the Horton Town Scare. Chloe accepts and Stefan offers to accompany her. She points out that they don’t have costumes, but Stefan lifts the bag containing their tropical outfits.
After: Days alumni reunite on screen
At Basic Black, Nicole tells Eric that the client likes the prints and wants more photos of her. He promises to cross it so she can catch up with Holly. She doesn’t want him to rush as it could catapult her career. Eric says that with her as a role model, it’s child’s play. After the shoot, which includes Nicole wearing red lingerie, she leaves to change so she can meet Holly. Eric watches her walk away.

Dressed as a princess, Rachel bakes pumpkin pancakes for Marlena at home. Kristen joins them, dressed as a queen. Rachel says her father is going to be king, which leads Kristen to proclaim them the royal family. Marlena forces a smile. Rachel asks if Grandma can be part of the royal family too. Kristen says it’s up to her. Kristen kicks Rachel out of the room and the women laugh at each other.
In a bedroom, John comes across Brady rummaging through Kristen’s bag. Brady covers up and says he was just looking for Rachel’s stuffed animal. John lashes out at his son over Kristen, but Brady declares he’s doing what he thinks is best for the people he loves. John never doubted it, but he implores Brady to tell him the truth. Brady asks his father to trust him.
Kristen finds them and trades barbs with John before he leaves. Kristen reiterates their agreement to Brady, noting that the serum is somewhere he will never find. Therefore, he is under his control. She asks him to accept what he cannot change and accept them as family. Brady states that they are not family since she had to blackmail him into complying.
Kristen wonders if he wants the power to bring her to her knees. She sits on the bed and seductively states that this might be the perfect place to do just that. Brady says not there, not now, never. The Kristen he loved would never humiliate herself by blackmailing someone into having sex with her. She may have all the power, but she can’t change how he feels. And what he feels for her is contempt. After he leaves, Kristen smiles and says, “You’re not gonna win this one Brady.”
In the living room, Kristen invites John and Marlena to the Scare. They can go like the devil and a priest. Blacks are indifferent. Brady walks out dressed like a king and “The Royal Family” leaves. John tells Doc that Brady “does what’s best for the people he loves”. He thinks Brady was looking for the serum in Kristen’s stuff. But Marlena points out that Brady would have left her once the serum worked. So what does he do?

In a bathrobe at the Salem Inn, Li calls Rolf in Jakarta. He learns that Rolf told Gabi the truth about Stefan, then erased his memory. He fumes at the mad scientist as Gabi joins him in a black jumpsuit and cat ears. He hangs up and admires his provocative costume. She wants to know who he was talking to. He says it was all about setting the stage to take over DiMera.
Li goes back to admiring her outfit, but Gabi explains that she’s taking Ari to Town Scare. She tries to make up for all the Halloweens she’s missed, noting that Ari is almost a teenager. Soon she will want nothing more to do with her. Li can’t imagine anyone wanting anything to do with her. Gabi replies: “And Stefan?” Li thinks Stefan’s attitude towards her makes it easier to move on with him. And his feelings for her will never change. Gabi swears to focus on Li and forget about Stefan. They kiss, which leads to sex.
After: Day of return days in person
In the afterglow, Gabi apologizes for constantly bringing up Stefan. Li understands, considering her husband has come back from the dead. She’s grateful to have him, but she has to pick Ari up from Sonny’s. He volunteers to go with them, but he doesn’t have a suit. She puts cat ears on her head.
In the square, Stefan points out how perfect it is that he and Chloe are dressed for the beach, while Holly is a shark. The girl runs off to Sweet Bits for a brownie, leaving Stefan and Chloe to engage in playful banter. Li, Gabi and Ari (played by Lane Rosa) arrive. Holly returns and the girls run off together. Li walks away to take a call from her father and Chloe runs off to help Holly with her fin. Stefan and Gabi look around awkwardly.
When Brady and Kristen show up, Rachel runs away. Kristen watches a kid walk past Rachel online and walks off to make her regret it. Brady mumbles that he regrets the day he laid eyes on her. He turns to see Chloe, and they talk about Rachel. Kristen returns to be closer to Brady. This sends Chloe back to Stefan and Gabi, who worry that Stefan won’t waste time chasing Chloe. Upset, Gabi rushes to check on Ari, and Li mutters that there’s still a connection between her and Stefan. Kristen walks by Li to declare that they both got what they wanted, while Gabi and Brady long to watch Chloe and Stefan in their arms.
