This character debuted in Genshin Impact 1.0 with a unique model, indicating that he would become playable one day. Travelers knew he was using Dendro back then, but this item was not available to players until 3.0 was released. Naturally, there were plenty of rumors that he was playable, with the most believable leaks pointing to it happening in Genshin Impact 3.6.
Genshin Impact Baizhu leaks: release date, weapon type and abilities
The tweet above contains information about the massive roadmap leak released on October 23, 2022. Seeing the data pointing to all of these releases is great for players who want to know when their favorite character will finally become playable.
Baizhu is shown to have released with Genshin Impact 3.6. The exact date and phase of the banner is currently unknown, but the month is expected to be March 2023. Likewise, it has not yet been revealed who the “new character” who is listed alongside him is.
At the very least, travelers know that Baizhu is a 5-star Dendro unit. Additionally, the next leak indicates that he uses a Catalyst as his weapon of choice.
Weapons and Gameplay Leaks
Very little is known about his playing abilities at the moment. An interesting thing is that the information presented in the tweet above refers to him as a “Lady_Catalyst”. This would suggest he uses the animations of the tall female model, but that could also be a placeholder. Baizhu is considered a “female” character, which will be related to the leak in the next section.
It’s also worth mentioning that not much information is currently available on his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst. What the trail does in its elemental skill remains to be seen. Likewise, using Yae Miko’s Elemental Burst as a placeholder doesn’t reveal anything too valuable either.
Costume censorship
A leak that might surprise some Genshin Impact players is that Baizhu will have a censored outfit in the Chinese version of the game. This presumably means that players will receive this skin for free as an alternate outfit if they play on other non-Chinese servers. . This would make Baizhu the first male character to be censored. Unfortunately, there is currently no unofficial image that reveals what the changes are. There are also no credible text leaks confirming what will be different between the NPC model players first saw and its eventual playable model.
