Tori Spelling, 49, and Dean McDermott, 55, made a very rare sighting together at a public event.

The married couple posed for a photo with their children as they attended Hollywood Horror Nights at Universal Studios in Los Angeles on Thursday.

It comes after it was claimed in June that they were going to have a “trial separation” after enduring many ups and downs since marrying in 2006.

Between them was their daughter and next to them was one of their sons as they were surrounded by pals and a few Universal cast members.

Tori and Dean married in 2006. And they share five children together: Liam, 15; Stella, 14; Hattie, 10; Finn, nine; and Beau, five.

McDermott also shares son Jack, 23, with ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace.

It has been rumored that their marriage has been on the rocks for quite some time.

In June, insiders gave more information about their allegedly turbulent relationship.

A source told Us Weekly that the latest update given to the couple’s friends was that they were “going through a trial separation.”

This summer, the actress’s friends were concerned as they heard nothing more from her, according to the source.

Friends tried to contact Tori but never heard back.

“She doesn’t do social things anymore. She seems to isolate herself. She’s been so MIA that they’re worried something’s going to happen – if she’s in money trouble again or if she’s depressed,’ the source said.

The insider also claimed that Tori and her friends aren’t getting together like they once did.

It was also alleged by another source that the couple had put a divorce on hold due to their “roller coaster” relationship.

The source claimed the couple felt ‘trapped’ as they were unable to divorce.

“They know divorce will be expensive and it’s not something they’re ready to go through right now. They both feel trapped,’ the insider told the site.

“Having kids makes it harder because they don’t want their kids to be unhappy, but at the same time Tori has been unhappy for quite a while now. They really are always together for their children.

Tori and Dean were seen attending their daughter Stella’s college graduation together in June. The duo posted gushing tributes to their daughter on Instagram.

Dean and Tori have been at the center of divorce rumors since last year, when a source close to Spelling told E! News that she is preparing to file for divorce from her husband.

The insider claimed there was no going back for the couple, but the 90210 star wanted to make sure they were “financially” stable before submitting divorce papers.

“The marriage is over and has been going on for a really long time now,” the source said, adding that the couple “really don’t get along” and “have been sleeping in different rooms for months.”

Tori added fuel to the fire by appearing on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, where she confirmed the couple were sleeping in separate beds.

‘What is really going on? You put on the wedding ring. Is everything alright ? Lewis asked her, after she was seen without her ring in March. “Because I feel like the last time you came here everything was fine, you were having sex.” Do you sleep in the same bed? Personal?’

‘You know what? Right now my kids and my dogs are sleeping in my bed,” she replied, and went on to say that McDermott was sleeping “in a bedroom.”

It has been alleged that a major source of conflict between the couple is trust issues stemming from Dean’s infidelity, which he admitted to in 2014, on the reality show True Tori.

A source told People: “Tori still has big trust issues. Part of their relationship was never fully repaired after he was unfaithful.

The insider revealed that the couple’s outings together were purely for the sake of their children.

“They lived separate lives. They’ll still have family meals and occasional outings, but that’s for the kids.

Tori and Dean also struggled financially.

In 2020, The Sun reported that Tori and Dean owed $1.2 million in taxes and unpaid credit card bills.

Her father Aaron Spelling left his daughter just $800,000 when he died in 2006. His widow Candy, 73, retained control of his $600 million fortune.

Her mother, Candy Spelling, has revealed her spending habits were the reason they left her an inheritance of just $800,000.

Speaking to The New York Times in 2014, Candy said Tori would “close a store and drop $50,000 to $60,000”, adding “I’ve never done anything like this”. She just went crazy.

“I’m not good with money, and I know a lot of people read a lot about my financial affairs,” Spelling admitted on her show Tori Tried And True in 2019.

“I had a business manager since I was 18, so I never handled my money,” she admitted.

“Everything, everything went to them, so unfortunately I never really learned about money. Now that I’m raising my own kids, I’m like, ‘This is so important!’
