Genshin Impact has a history of breaking the fan base when it comes to drip marketing, but this new set of upcoming characters released on Monday (October 31) is getting fans excited.

Why? Because Scaramouche is finally confirmed playable! Revealed on the anniversary of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, no less (go listen to the song if you haven’t had this reference).

Either way, you heard it right, the haughty Fatui Harbinger and resident troublemaker of Inazuman will join the roster of playable characters sometime after Update 3.2, albeit with a drastically different name and design.

With him, a new character named Faruzan is marketed drip.

Here’s everything we know about them so far!

The Vagabond

Before being known as Scaramouche the Balladeer, or his chosen name Kunikuzushi, this Fatui Harbinger was only called by the name “Wanderer”.

We’ve explored the Wanderer’s past extensively before, he was the first puppet robot created by the Inazuman Archon, Raiden Ei, for the purpose of housing his Gnosis as a means for him to avoid erosion.

However, Raiden Ei chose not to use the Wanderer as he had “shed tears”, causing him to decide that he would be too soft to contain the power of his Gnosis. Instead of destroying this puppet, however, she chose to lock him into a deep sleep.

it is unknown how the Wanderer awoke from his slumber, but once he escaped his confines and entered the outside world, he was met with betrayal and heartache that led him to become the Fatui Harbinger cunning as he is today.

With the conclusion of Archon Quest 3.1, we now know that Scaramouche is in cahoots with fellow Harbinger Il Dottore and the Sages Akademiya to become the new god of Sumeru.

Though considering his drip market now shows him in a different kimono, different color scheme, and Anemo vision (no less the perfect vision for him with all his dead friends…), he’s cautious to assume that Genshin Impact developer HoYoverse just committed the game’s biggest spoiler in recent memory.

Since 3.2 we will face him in an epic boss fight which, probably, will lead to his defeat and his “reprogramming” as a Wanderer.

Her Vision Holder is also of Sumeru design, so we can expect her “reprogramming” to be in the hands of none other than Dendro Archon herself, Lesser Lord Kusanali.

We Scaramouche simps are just grateful he didn’t turn to ashes like Signora did.

Faruzan is known as “The Encyclopedia of Mechanics” in the Akademiya.

According to his tradition, students who are looking for answers regarding the machines and how they work but are too afraid to ask their tutor can simply knock on Faruzan’s door to ask their question. Which sounds pretty cool, except…

There’s a catch – they have to call her “Madame”. Respectfully, of course.

Mrs. Faruzan may seem surprisingly young given her fondness for machines, but she has all the wisdom and gentleness of a genius in her field.

Although she generally looks nice, students should exercise caution when mentioning her youthful appearance or asking why she is shunned in Haravatat, lest they incur her wrath!

We’re excited to hear more about their kits and weapons of choice in the future.

In the meantime, we can guess that The Wanderer may have a more DPS-oriented kit, while Faruzan may be more for support!

Genshin Impact version 3.2 will be released on November 2. The upcoming release also adds two new characters to Nahida, also known as Dendro Archon Lesser Lord Kusanali, and Layla, among a ton of other new content.

Genshin Impact versions 3.0, 3.1, and 3.2 will have shortened runtimes of five weeks instead of the usual six weeks, likely to catch up with the game’s original release schedule after the release of version 2.7 was delayed in April.
