As Young & Restless makes its way into November Sweeps, there’s a lot to unpack. Let’s cut to the chase, starting with the emotional scenes between Melissa Claire Egan and Jason Thompson as Chelsea and Billy during and after his suicide attempt…

here for you

Egan and Thompson gave award-winning performances as Billy helped Chelsea through her suicide attempt on the roof of the Grand Phoenix and the material they worked with was pretty amazing too. Last week I expressed my disappointment that Chelsea didn’t go “soap crazy” and I stand by that – it would have been truer to form the character – but the writers are clearly going in a certain direction with Chelsea and Billy. Example: Lily’s reaction when Billy revealed that he had promised his ex-fiancée that he would support her “every step of the way”. You can’t even blame her to be fed up with him running to “save” the other women in his life. It’s safe to say that this couple is officially on the rocks.

There were a few bones to pick with the story, such as Billy suddenly and conveniently being more in tune with what was going on with Chelsea than Adam, Billy leaving Lily sitting at the Glam Club, and Billy calling Sharon was questionable given his story. with Chelsea. But she’s a good connection to Adam, who, by the way, deserves to know what’s going on, if only for Connor’s sake, despite how Billy may feel about him. I was stunned that after the suicide attempt they asked Billy to say this line to Chelsea: ‘I believe everything is forgivable.’ Maybe I heard wrong, because…really?!? Do you, though, Billy?!?

all hidden

As wonderful as it is to have a troublemaker on the canvas, I would have preferred one more like Ashland, who I could support in some ways, as opposed to this extra-smarmy version of Tucker McCall. Is it the constant smirk? I don’t know, but even knowing that his program is partly “benevolent” (to use his word) – in that he wants to offer Devon Chancellor and Ashley with Jabot – does not help me to m ‘warm up with him or the idea of him with Ashley. That said, their fight on Friday’s episode was fun to watch.

Can you repeat that please?!?

This whole Diane and Tucker thing requires the Abbotts to be scaled down to some extent to allow for it. It had never made sense for Jack to defend Diane against Phyllis, especially when he had just gotten back into bed with Red, but it really doesn’t add up now that she was right that Diane was misleading. It was mind-boggling to listen to him spin recent events so he could keep blaming Phyllis (without saying a word about Nikki or Ashley’s involvement, by the way) and to see him step forward to let Diane get away. You would think, like Summer, that he would see the writing on the wall and want Diane away from Kyle and Harrison. Speaking of which, we’ve started to see the beginning of trouble for “Skyle” as they take different stances on the Diane drama.

After: Will be [Spoiler] end up with Phyllis?

karma is coming

Elena was saying pretty much exactly what I was thinking when she called Nate about his gullibility regarding Victoria’s agenda. He trusts the Newman too much, who appreciates his loyalty to her, but his own loyalty has yet to be questioned. Would she throw him under the bus to save her business or her family? She certainly would. There may be some sort of reward in store for the two if this arrangement doesn’t work out as well as they assume. If Nate is in over his head and Sally brings her incredible ideas to the competition, as I think she will, there will be karma to come. The other question is whether Elena will take it back or not. She may do it for a while, but they just don’t operate on the same wavelength, so she might eventually come back to Devon, and that brings us to our next infidelity scandal, which isn’t Elena and Devon but…

The soap mess

Devon and Abby will share a passionate kiss. We’ve seen a Devon/Abby/Chance love triangle happen, and sure enough, next week’s preview teases best buds indulging in a spontaneous liplock after Devon tells Abby Chance is stupid for not putting her on. her and Dominic first. Hmm. Well, he’s not so much a jerk as he is a cop, and while the old Naked Heiress version of Abby would have liked the rough and tumultuous life, today’s Abby seems better suited to a wealthy husband who will put her on a pedestal. Looks like Devon would do, but I’m afraid they’ll be super boring as a couple. Either way, it’s only a matter of time before Chance hits the market again, and I know exactly the woman for him. Hint: she was a fabulous bride to another Genoa City cop, who happened to be her late partner. Did you see Sharon bring Chance a pastry the other night when he “looked like he could use it”? I did it.

After: Sharon Case on Who Got Away

In other cheating news, Young and restless spoilers tease that something hot is going to happen between Noah and Audra in the days to come. We know their relationship was fiery in the past, so the odds of this interaction leading to a kiss or even more seem pretty darn good. Watch out Ally!

Sally’s Choice

After being fired from Newman Media, Sally has all kinds of decisions to make, but two very important ones: where she will work and who she will play with. As the writers continue their game of musical jobs, we’re pretty sure she’ll land in Chancellor-Winters, which packs the best punch in terms of the storyline, especially since her excellence there would stick it to the wall. ex-boss who fired her, who happens to be the same woman who plotted a takeover of Devon and Lily-Victoria’s company.

As for which man Sally will choose to move forward with, despite the show scaring off new hope for “Ally,” it just doesn’t seem like Adam and Sally are around yet. There’s more drama in Sally choosing Nick at this point, so expect her to decide to move forward with him and not her brother.

After: Sally’s revenge on Victoria

Oh oh

At the end of Friday’s episode, Harrison told Diane he was feeling sick and she realized he had a fever. We all know what this means! Watch for more on that in an upcoming story next week on SOAPS.

It’s just my opinion. Please share your thoughts on the current storylines in the comments section below!
