Well, at least one Canadian TikToker thinks so. Winnipeg resident and savings whiz Ashlee, who posts under the handle @msfili, has amassed thousands of followers thanks to her cool finds.
Ashlee says she’s a professional “second-hand influencer” because she’s found the most jaw-dropping deals at thrift stores here in Canada.
Some of his finds include limited edition designer creations. We’re talking about Michael Kors, Louis Vuitton, Fossil, Tiffany & Co., Coach, Burberry and many more high-end brands.
She also found some of these bargains for incredibly low amounts! Take, for example, the time she nabbed a pair of Tiffany & Co. sunglasses for $32 when they easily sell for $200 or more.
Or the time she saw a Burberry cashmere and wool trench coat for $100. Retail value? A whopping $4,000.
It’s not just the clothes either. In the past, she’s found items like Airpod Pros for just $4 at a local thrift store, vintage Polly Pockets and wireless keyboards.
In fact, Ashlee even managed to make a nice little profit by reselling some of these items.
This includes a limited-edition Michael Kors handbag that she found for just $15 and managed to return for $260. Yes, that’s a profit of $245 on a single item.
She has gained so much experience in these stores that she also knows a bad deal when she sees one and regularly calls the thrift stores selling questionable items.
Like the time she found an open mouthwash. Or else, used underwear. Yeah.
Ashlee’s saving adventures are also full of teachable moments. Like when she called a store for charging more for a brand than its true retail value.
Moral of the story? When in doubt, always check prices.
Finally, it sometimes publishes useful tips for spotting those pesky counterfeits.
